Your Life, Your Choices

My name is Ruiting Jia, and I am a high school senior at Reservoir High School in Fulton, Maryland, enrolled in the Independent Research G/T program. I created this website as a final product to my yearlong research on the effect of communication and guidelines on end-of-life care. I hope to target patient audiences who are interested in becoming more informed when they are making a decision on their end-of-life choices, as well as physicians and hospitals who are looking to improve patient care through transmission of information and providing options, such as palliative care, hospice, and choosing a surrogate decision-maker.

As I enroll in the University of California - Los Angeles this fall to pursue my pre-med undergraduate studies, I will take the skills that I've learned from my research to further deepen my understanding of physician-patient care.
